Hey all, I got a new rig and I need to gloat! I went out looking to downsize from my old Yorkville stack... and ended up with this monstrosity.
I got the M9 first, and after trying it with several cabs, as soon as I plugged into the Markbass 6x10 I knew there was nothing I could do... not exactly a downsize (even though it is ~15lb lighter than my old Yorkie 8x8) but it was way too killer to resist. This is my Tone Heaven, not to mention enough volume to level a small town. It's got so much punch I was able to cut through a guitarist playing through 14 4X12 cabs the first time I ever used it (more on that later lol). Hell, I had an Aphex 204 that made my last rig sound a lot better, but I now know there is such a thing as too much bass... With the Pull Deep switch on, the amount of low end is just ridiculous, not to mention I really have no use for the aural enhancer anymore! Being the older model cab (with the yellow back), I got a pretty wicked deal on it so that makes it a little sweeter.
Anyway, I brought the rig to a buddy's jam space to jam with his Ozzy/Maiden tribute band (as well as my own Motorhead tribute) shortly after getting it all together, and let's just say that while their bassist plays through
6 8x10 cabs and
4 very high powered heads (absolutely nuts, I know

), the M9 didn't need to be turned up past 3 (with the gain at 12:00) and needless to say, kept up with an EXTREMELY loud band without breaking a sweat. I thought it was unnecessarily stupid loud, but it was still good to know just how powerful this thing can be!
And of course, the proof:
So I can definitely vouch for Mesa and Markbass being a kick-ass combination!
