It's been announced for like two years now, but I don't think even one has made it to North America yet. Total vaporware, as far as I know. Regardless, at $700, it's basically the median price for a used SVT, which, IMO, will sink it.

Yep. For that price you could get used and sometimes also good amp heads. And as mentioned. Behringer...

If you find a used American made SVT for 700 let me know.
All the ones I see are over a grand .

You can get a made in USA Peavey VB-2 with a 5 year warranty for that much or a used one for less. Why chance it?

I'd rather pay a grand for a used Ampeg than $700 for a new piece of crap clone.

The ad says it's hand made.

Probably by 12 year old girls making $2 a week if they are lucky.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

It's just components and a circuit.
How good are the components?
How well are they put together?
I've been very pleased with many Behringer items.
Funny how we happily accept clones of some things, but get whiny when it's a clone of something beloved. It's all a matter of whose sheep's getting sheared.
A clone is a clone. Could be good. Could suck.
Saying it will suck with no proof is ignorance.
Saying you'd rather pay more for Ampeg is valid, and a choice.
Only time will tell if they hit a home run, or if it's a swing and a miss.
I'd like to see and hear one.
Merry Christmas, folks!

I think the nay-sayers are justified, due to the company's prior track record. The components used are usually the cheapest of the cheap, and as to reliability, not so good. But I think a clone is an exact duplicate, and as such, the wrong term used here. Cheap copy is more accurate.

Right, "clone" is too complimentary. I'll try to watch that in the future.

A band I know got an endorsement from Bugera a little while ago (Lord knows why...). They gave up the endorsement after I believe it was the FOURTH amp died in under 3 months. An SVT is a workhorse, a Bugera is a workorder.

+1 to used SVT. Guitar Center Used has 15 SVT-CL amps for under $1,000, 3 of which are $800. For $100 more, I'd buy the used Ampeg. I've had two Behringer combo amps and they were sub-par; decent at best.

Interesting. However, wasn't the Mackie suit exactly the opposite of what you're stating? I recall that B used the same switches, pots, and components as the way more expensive M's.
Chinese labor is another discussion. One that I think we all agree on, and that situation stinks.
If I could choose between something $1000 made in USA or $700 made in China, that's a no brainier. USA all the way.
But let's not be disingenuous about it.
Only time and trial can tell if the product is good and reliable.
Many of B's products are.

...rhymes with "Damp Leg"...? Do they think ridicule of competitors sells product?
