Buster's New Blue Home! (mesa content)

Sign in to disble this ad
I got the idea a while ago to do this, and am generally pleased with the result. Part of me feels guilty for tearing apart an amp, but the other part of me is real happy. Now I can use this with the cab of my choice! I'm seeing some 10"s in my future, although I will keep the EVM15L around in it's combo enclosure, since it does sound really awesome with my P-bass/flats.

I'm a total woodworking amateur, so this isn't perfect, but most of the flaws are only going to be noticed by me. I learned a LOT by making this, so if I ever do another amp cabinet it will go that much better. I have a back grill done too, I just need to get some tiny screws that will fit in the holes.

So there is my Buster's new home. I kinda went for a retro vibe, but the blue is so vibrant, so alive!!! What do you think of it?

Custom is cool, especially when earned with your own sweat.
I really hope I can get one of those heads one day. cheers

Yeah the heads are surprisingly rare. The combo came my way. and I liked it for a while, but man it was heavy. I had to take 2 trips to load in anyway, this way is much easier.

Nicest Buster custom case work that I have seen...congrats on the result. In contrast, there's one listed on eBay right now that looks like Kermit the Frog threw up on.

I saw that one too...man, that green is rough.

Thanks for the compliments! I spent a lot more time on this than I thought I would, but it was worth it.

That turned out really nice. Good job. Makes me really want to do the same with my 210 wedge.

It totally does. It's a different color, but it fits real well.

Like the look! Only thing I'd comment on is to make a back panel to give the tubes some protection during transport. Just a strip across the back at tube level should do the trick.

I propose that henceforth, this Buster shall be called "The Blue Buster" and that when you decide to sell The Blue Buster (we all succumb to G.A.S.), you give TBers first dibs!
