Buying on just rep alone...Eden WTX500 or Little Mark III?

Sign in to disble this ad
I can't find either of these to test drive near my home. GC says that the LMIII is a spec. order for stores only. Just going by rep, CS, opinions of others, which one would you go with? I hear great things about the LMIII, but I like some of the extra options of the Eden. Like the mute and being able to practice with using headphones and plugging in an audio device with no cabs hooked up. I read Markbass is hard to find a place to do work on them. I heard Eden has crappy CS. I don't like buying blind like this without plugging in, but might not have a choice. I keep my stuff a long time , so I'm hoping for the best. I've been running the same amp for over 16years now if that tells you anything. Thanks

Any input? I play mostly rock/hard rock with some metal and blues in the mix. All kinds of stuff actually. The GK MB2-500 was in the mix also, but after talking to a local guy I know that has one, I think I'll pass. He really likes the sound and power, but is on his 3rd one. The first two blew up on him. I'm really feeling the LMIII from all the good things on the forums, but think the Eden has a bit more options. Which one is more versatile tone-wise? Thanks

I have had them both and think you should check out the TC Electronic RH450 as well...Just a thought!

Peace,

Between those two amps based on rep alone, I'd say Markbass.

Why does your GC say the LM III is a special order item? I thought GC was supposed to be a stocking dealer, given they are the importer?

Didn't call the closest store yet, but online they state not stocked in stores. Online or special order in the store only. When I can get up there, I'll call and see if they maybe have one in stock that I can check out. I've been looking on the net a good bit today and I'm thinking the nod is going to the LMIII. Even though I just got my Ampeg fixed the other week, it was humming and crackling a bit today when I was playing. Think I need to bite the bullet and push it off as a practice/backup. Thanks for the input.

Toss up,I have been playing some really great sounding eden rigs lately and I own the lmiii.Eden sounds a little more wooley, tight and punchy and lmiii sounds clean ,tight and punchy,in my opinion. I could be happy with either.I would find out when LM rocker 500 is coming out, that is the head I would be interested in, if I were looking.

I found the Eden to be low on power at 8 ohms. Great tone though. You can get a B-stock TC Electronic Classic 450 for the same $. Between the Eden and Markbass, totally different tones IMO.
