Buying used

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm going to buy this amp pretty soon, and I was thinking of buying it used. Should I get both used? Get both new? Get head used and cab new? Or get the cab used and the head new? I'm just trying to save some money, and I don't want it to break in the first week if I do buy it used. GC said they could cut me a deal and give it to me for $500 new.

Acoustic B200H and B410 Stack and more Bass Amplifiers at GuitarCenter.com.

Look in the TB classifieds. You can score a pretty decent amp there for the same price which will be, IMHO, better than the GC version of acoustic amps.

You might get a better amp and cab used, but its not a bad starter package.

I played it and it sounded great. It's LOUD! Head sounded great too. I tried it in many different 410's, and IMHO the acoustic sounded the best. I don't know, there must be something wrong with me...

If you think it sounded great that is what matters. NO one here can tell you how to get the sound you want in your ears

I haven't played it so I can't comment on it there. I'm not in the market for an amp so I'm not playing any, or I may end up buying one.

So a $550 setup for $500 isn't bad. If you get the right coupon from their emails you could get it for $475 I would think.

But to the question of which pieces to buy used? I'd say both if you can find what you're after in a condition you can live with. I love used gear because I'm a cheapskate.

Man I think I fell in love with that thing. I probably played through it for a good hour before I left. That's how good it sounds.

That comment leads me to suggest that you get it, so long as it’s affordable for you. Especially since you already tried others.

Plus you can add another 410 (keep cabs matched) later if you feel the need.

Teller County... That's either really far away from the springs, or really close. I've been there... I just don't remember where it is in CO. I think it's up by Denver...

yeah man, if yer gonna play it in a band setting, it might not be loud enough(depending on the band i suppose).. i mean im sure it sounds great and really loud when its just you and some guy in the guitar section noodling Led Zeppelin stuff, but in a band setting it might not be loud enough, and when you try to push it to hard it prolly wont sound very good. Ive dont that in the past. got an amp that was "loud as f%$&" but then i couldnt hear it at all with a band. Very frustrating.

From what I've read and heard from people, they say that cab is plenty loud for a band, and I believe them.
