I'm useless with the tech stuff, but i understand the bxr300 speaker is, inferior. The volume keeps dying on me, it'll start off strong then get quieter...? Can I take out the old speaker and replace it with a black widow? I have 3

I would say from what you are telling us that the electronics are what is bad, not the speaker. Replacing the speaker probably will make no difference.

I had one of thoses I bought new in 95 or 96 . I also thought a Black Widow would make it sound better so I bought one and installed it and like Wes said , it made little difference to the sound . I took the Black Widow out and put the stock Fender speaker back in and built a cabinet for the Peavey speaker . That made a big difference when using both , very good volume . I'd try using one of your Black widows as an extension cab as long as it's 8 ohms .

By the way I thought the BXR300 was a pretty good amp . Not spectacular but decent tone and good volume . The only real downside for me was the weight , it was heavy .
