Cab for B2RE

Sign in to disble this ad
I just scored a B2RE for half of what GC charges for them, now I need a cab. I only half understand ohms, this amp has 450 watts @ 4 ohms. If I want to fill a medium club or large bar, do I want a 4 or 9 ohm 410 cab? I saw the Rumble 410 and of course love the price, but heard some grumbling about it being 4 ohm. Does that mean I couldnt get a second down the road and run 2 cabs? I'm confused...

When I had that Ampeg B2RE head I paired it up with the
8 Ohm Ampeg 410HE. This is a good place to start and you can always add another matching cab.

Correct. If you get a 4 ohm cab,you can only run one cab. Get two 8 ohm cabs, or one big 4 ohm cab if you think you'll need more then one cab.

To get the most out of the B2RE you'll want to run it at 4 ohms. Looking at Ampeg cabs, that means one 8x10, or one 410HLF. You can also stack a pair of 8 ohm cabs like the 410HE or 1x15, or even a pair of 210AV's. All depends on what vibe and sound you're going for. A friend of mine gigs the B2RE with an 810 and it works well for him. Much easier to move around then dead lifting an individual 410 or 1x15 cab.

When I had mine I played it with a 410hlf.
