An old-school 2x15 with either EVs or JBLs is my first reaction. If you were using a modeler for guitar that has speaker emulation, any full range cabinet would do well. Without speaker emulation, you gotta watch out for high end as a distorted guitar through a cabinet with a tweeter will sound (to my ears) awful!!!

For years I used my 4 x 12 straight cabinet stocked with Vintage Celestion 75's. It was with an old school Marshall SLP 100. It was louder than God on guitar and balls to the wall with bass. Never had any problem. I don't play gigs like that anymore so it just sits there.

I played my Fender Tele for a while through the Hartke 2000/410XL amp/cabinet setup I use for bass. Gave it a nice warmer/rounder sound at lower volumes, but was not exactly an easily portable setup with the cabinet coming in at nearly 90 lb.

It depends on what you're looking for tone wise from both instruments. I like my guitar compressed and dirty, able to give crunch without being stupid loud. I want my bass open and clean, able to take walls down without a hint of low frequency compression. No single speaker is capable of delivering both of those.

I agree 100%, this is a no brainer.

Berg NV412 sounds great with guitar as well as bass. I would agree with the Bag End D12 recommendation - my S15D's sound really good with guitar, so I would imagine the 12's would be even better.

how much do you want to spend? I'd probably buy an Electric 2x15".
