Cab Building Question

Im building my first cab and i cant find ANYTHING on the internet for bass cabs. Should i pad the inside with a fiberglass or studio foam-like material or leave it hollow?

Mattress pad stuff like this.

Walmart.com: Mainstays Comfort Coil Foam Mattress Pad: Furniture

Just make sure it's the plain old cheap mattress pad (open-cell foam). I think the memory foam stuff has closed cells.

If you are making a sealed cab, it should be stuffed, a ported cab should be lined.

Bear in mind there is a whole lot more to building cabs than speakers in a box. Search here and there is loads of threads covering a tiny fraction of what is good to know.

That's far too elementary a question from someone considering building their own cab. I hope you're using a tried and tested design loaded with the drivers recommended for it. As already noted there's a lot more to speaker building than sticking drivers into a box.

You are kidding right? Can't find anything? Nearly ten thousand fEarful posts and counting....

Lock yourself in your room for the weekend and read all that is fEarful. All ten parts, don't skip anything. Okay, maybe just check out the wiki, that will still keep you busy for a while.

Or, grab the plans off the wiki and spend the weekend building the fEarful cab of your choice. Order parts. Two weeks from now you'll have a killer cab. Follow the plans, don't cheap out or shortcut on anything, it'll be worth it. I promise!

repeat as needed.
