Cab options for Ampeg B 25B?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an 1974 Ampeg B 25B and would like to know if there are any other cabs, the head is rated at 16 ohm, that would work other than the 2x15 Ampeg cab that was made for this head.

Stick a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter jack in the top speaker jack. Plug an 8 ohm cab in the bottom. Voila.

I am using 2 Ampeg B115e cabinets. I rigged up a little box that puts the cabs in series i.e. 16 ohms! Makes a nice modular 2x15 set up. Take one cab for a small gig (with the plug trick), take two for a bigger show.

The B series cabs are a little lighter than the SVT 15e, making them a little easier to move around. We will see how they hold up.

Good luck!
Chris
