Which cab set up would you run? Need to decide

Sign in to disble this ad
OK I am playing Saturday night at a pub here. Room size is about 250 capacity but the actual concert hall is more like 125 to 150. Normal size staqe and a good house PA with nice subs under the stage.

I will be running my Mesa/Boogie 400+ with a SansAmp RBI in the effects loop. My cab choices are:

SWR Workingman 210T and 115T stack
Bag End Q10BX-D and S15B-D stack
Ampeg SVT 410HLN
Ampeg SVT 810 Squareback

Right now I am leaning towards the SVT 410 since it's smaller, we need to set up in front of the other band, and the club has a good PA with QSC PLX amps running everything.

Thoughts?

I think that having the choices you have is a good kind of problem to have.

+1

the ampeg 410 seems like a logical choice though.

The 4x10 should handle it fine.

Guess I'm a little bit of a hoarder with my cabs. I just can't part with 'em.

Yeah but that's almost overkill for a room that size I think. Or maybe not. I've played there before and never used my squareback.

Like I said, a bit of a hoarder. My Bag Ends aren't even in this shot.

Jimmy that "was" a Bassman 215. An older one, maybe 68, not sure. It "was" factory loaded with JBL K140's. However I found that I didn't play it much at all so I sold the K140's and that had paid for the stem to stern tech work on the Ampeg V4-B that is also in the photo.

I vote for the "heavy iron" V4-B with the squareback....... Wasn't one of the choices, I should've read the original post closer (sorry, I got V4 on the brain). The 410'er and the 400+ should do a nice job.
