Which Cab would be good w/ Mesa Boogie 400+

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Friends !

Nice to meet you all !
This is my first Thread ! I´m from brazil. So...Sorry for my poor english.

I´ve recently bought the Mesa 400+ and would to know if you could tell me what kind of care I may take with it and, course... which 4x10 cab type would be cool with this amp.

I´m actually using the Ampeg 410 on it (Didn´t test yet because their separate locations), but I guess (you could tell me better) that it´s not enough. Am I wrong ?

Waitin´for your opinion !

thank you all !

Ivan BK.

You can use any bass cab you like, so long as the impedance is set on the head to match the load. That amp was originally designed to be paired with mesa's discontinued Deisel line. A Deisel 215 would be awesome.

I have the same amp and use it with the Ampeg SVT 410 HLF cab. I use an American Fender Jazz bass with Sadowsky pickups and a german Hofner 500-1 V63.
It really sounds awesome !!!!!!!
I play in a cover band, mainly beatles, eric clapton, elvis, U-2, REM.
Hope it helps ......... anyway IT IS a wonderful amp
Kind regards

Mesa Boogie Diesel 215, or any of the cabs from that series, Ampeg 810. I'm using a Sunn 2000s cab with my Mesa D-180, but those are very large and probably very hard to come by in Brazil.

I had it with a mesa powerhouse 1000 and it killed. Also ran two mesa 15s with it once and liked that as well. Had a chance to run it with a warwick 4 10 and although the tone was good the mesa cabs cant be beat. Any modern mesa cab will be your best bet.

I concur 100%. This amp sounds great with everything I have used. Specifically, though, I am now using an Epifani UL2-115.

+1 to Mesa/Boogie's Diesel line, especially the 215. Not boomy at all, very clear, detailed, and full-bodied.
