A cabinet to DB750

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

I'm looking for a (not to expensive) 4x10 cabinet to my DB750. Today i tried a Ampeg SVT410HLF with the DB750 and it sounded great but after a while the cabinet sounded as if one of the speakers was blown. The Ampeg SVT410HLF is a 4 ohm's cabinet that handles 500 watts and the DB750 makes 750 watts at 4 ohm. Is the amp to big for the cabinet? And is there a way to make them work together because i can't find a Ampeg SVT410HLF at 8 ohm. 2 cabinets would be to big and expensive.

The GS410 is the only cabinet for a DB750. Find a used one.

Yeah i know, I already got a GS412. But i live in Denmark and need a cabinet in another part of the country. There is no used GS410 right now (and probably wound't be for a long time) and a new cost 1720 US € a bit to expensive.

The DB750 is rated for 750 watts at 4 ohms, but this is the amp's maxiumum power output. For normal operating conditions (levels tolerable by humans) your actual output power will be significantly less. It all depends on how far you crank the knobs, but being familair with the DB750, I'm guessing it's not very far.

The 410HLF is rated for 500W RMS/1000W Max. It should have no problem handling the DB750, unless there is something wrong with it.

Anything Bergantino sounds amazing with the DB 750... 310, 212, 410, 322, 2 112's, 210, 2 210's, any of the NV Series.
I also really enjoy the DB 750 through an Acme Low B II. It's not crazy loud, just nice thick Aguilar tone.

I use the GS410 and GS412 with my DB750 but have had good results with the DB750 / Eden 410XST cabs.

I don't think any 410 cab can withstand the power of a DB750, if you crank it.

Get more speakers.

Haha actually i'm and Ampeg dis-liker.
I don't like them at all.

But I am an Aguilar lover and for MY tastes the DB series is way better than the GS, for my style and my tone goals.

Just joking around!

I've used a DB750 through a Q10BX-D for a while. Awesome sound. Big cab, though...

Me too. But I still don't care for the DB cabs.

Yeah I have noticed from your posts. I loved the GS cabs I had, but for rock, the DBs are better for me.

It's great that such different but high-quality cabs come from the same company and fill 2 different tone spectrums for different players like you and me.

My favorites, in order of awesomeness:

Accugroove Whappo Jr
Accugroove Tri115L
Aguilar GS410
Aguilar GS412
2 Aguilar GS112's
Ampeg 8x10

Past that I have no experience. I'm sure it sounds big, fat, and 'RIGHT' through just about anything.

I just had to sell my DB750 but from all the cabs I did use with it my fav where the now discontinued Aguilar S810 and the Aguilar DB112s.

I always wanted to try a Berg NV610 out, oh well, someday.

I think ElMon's options are very very good.
