cabinet grille covering advice

I have a Schroeder cab with a metal grille that I'd like to match the covering of my ST-AV. It has the blue silver cloth. What's the best way? Cloth over top of the grille or build a frame?

I was just wondering the same darn thing. I was thinking about making the outside measurements the same size as the current grille and putting two center cross braces (+) and maybe triangle corner braces. But I'm not a expert wood worker. This should allow for enough room for the fabric to be stretched over it...maybe 1/16" less on each side? Then I could use the existing screw holes too. Or should I go to velcro?

If you are putting a cloth grill cover on, make 100% sure you are not covering ports. It will distort at loud volumes. If you have to cover the port use audio cloth only and make sure it is SUPER tight on that frame.

I've learned these lessons the hard way.
