Cabinet Recommendations

I picked up an Ampeg 810e off the classifieds recently and while I like the cab I can't really get the low-end I want. The speakers get flabby and I really don't want to blow them.

I'm probably a rare case but I like the mud and the low-end rumble of a Gibson mudbucker. I'm pretty sure I want something ported. I figure I can get at least $450 for my ampeg. That plus $100 out of my pocket leaves me with a budget of about $550.

610HLF or 410HLF maybe? The 610HLF doesn't go as low as the 410HLF but it's ported and goes lower than the 810e. 410HLF's go super low so two would really bring you the low end, but you'd need a 2 ohm capable amp since they're 4 ohm cabs.

Those are definitely options. I was hopping I'd get more recommendations. I'm likely to buy used as well. I was hopping some of the drop tuners and doom players would recommend some cabinets.

Maybe a bit over your budget of $550, but look into something loaded with Eminence 3015LF or 3012LF drivers such as a fERAful or one of the near-ful variants (LDS, Avatar, etc.)

I'm using Aggie GS112's and get plenty of low end through them. I'm not a doom player, but I do use a 5er and downtune to D for a 4 string in a metal band.

Obviously these don't have the stature of an 8X10, but they work very well.
