Cabinet wiring

Sign in to disble this ad
I am using a Crown XLS1500 power amp and 4 speaker ( 2 x 10) cabinets 4 OHM's each cabinet. Right now I am running 2 speaker cabinets per channel which gives me a 2 OHM total load per channel. Is there anyway I can rewire the cabinets to where the amp sees a 4 OHM load per channel? Or all 4 cabinets together and bridge - mono at 8 OHM load? I am assuming that all speakers in the cabinets are 8 OHMS each. Thanks.

No. 2 or 8 ohm stereo or, 4 or 16 ohm mono with 8x 8 ohm speakers.

For splitting the signal, I jump rather than split. Just go from one place to the next.

2 cabs at 4 ohms. Only 2 cabs, but 4 (8) ohm speakers.

Without internally rewiring cabs:
mono - 2 ohms parallel or 8 ohms series
Stereo - 4 ohms per channel with only 2 cabs.

Rewiring cabs internally to series (16 ohms each)
Mono - 8 ohms parallel or 32 ohms series
Stereo - 16 ohms only with only 2 cabs.
