Cable length question

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Markbass LMII that will be pushing two GK Neo 112-II's. I already have 5 ft speak-on cable and figure I would daisy chain to the other cabinet. Does the other chord have to be the same gauge and length?

It should be the same gauge, but the length is up to you. I suggest buying the same one you are using now.

+1 for the same gauge as stated before but I would keep the lenghts as short as possible.

No. So long as it's of adequate gauge there's no need for the cables to be identical. In most cases 16 ga. is plenty for a 10 foot or less cable length.

Yes, thanks Bill. I am about to build some custom length speakon cables and was wondering what minimum gage I could get away with it.

Looks like I'll go with 16.
