Which cables are safe to use for connecting amp to cab?

Sign in to disble this ad
My jack speaker cable broke. Gig soon. I can get my hands on a speakon cable alright but I just want to check if a regular speakon cable is safe to use for connecting amp to cab or does it have to be one of those short speakon cables.

Thanks

ANY speaker cable will do, so long as the connections are correct. It's not a "long" cable until it reaches 25' in length. Just don't use a standard instrument cable, even though they may appear to be the same.

Have to get pretty long or a pretty massive amp to cause trouble, if it is a speaker cable, probably good to go.

Are you talking about jack speaker cables or speakon cables? I have no jack speaker cables available. I only have speakon cables. This thing - http://www.uvaudio.com/picture/Speak...leryImage=true

Do you mean any speakon cable will do as long as the connections are correct?

My amp and cab both take speakon by the way so the connections are fine.

Thanks.

You can get some funnyness with speakons an their multiple poles, so ones wired for bridging and stuff are kind of an exception, you'll probably know if you have those though.
