Calling all eden users - Eden vs. Boogie?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a Mesa Bass 400 (not the 400+) that has served me well but I've sort of fallen out of love with. It's been officially replaced by my Ampeg v4 head now and is mostly just collecting dust. I'd like to put it towards something that's a little more versatile, lighter to carry around, and just an all around go-to type of head. I know that I've got my "big, heavy, crunchy tube amp" needs covered with the V4, so now I'm looking for something that's portable and can handle different assignments.

Someone on a local used exchange website is offering up their Eden US made WT-550 for trade for a tube amp, and they specifically list wanting a Mesa Boogie Bass 400. Do you guys think that the WT-550 will do what I'm looking for and do you think this would be a decent straight up trade in terms of value? I've never played an Eden amp, so I'm not really sure what to think of them. Unfortunately there aren't any Eden dealers around my area that I know of to test run with either. My Boogie is in mint shape and the tubes have plenty of life in them still.

Your thoughts?

The Eden WT-550 is a fine amp, and if you want to try something different, it would probably serve you well. That being said, I would think that your Bass 400 is worth a little more than a used WT-550 in good condition. Ideally, I would say you should get a bit of cash coming your way if you do the trade.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Thanks for the thoughts.

In addition to what Tom said, I agree that it would accomplish what you are seeking.
