Calling ampeg guys. PR410hlE ??

Sign in to disble this ad
Cab on sale, used- I thought I took the model number down correctly PR410HLE?
I believe the biggest heaviest 410 cab that Ampeg made
I look up this model and no dice. Maybe it is PR410hlF not hlE?

in any case, I presently own the slightly lighter 410 HLF- I am not sure of the letters in front of the 410HLF it is ported
it weighs a little less than the cab for sale that I am considering buying... I may have messed up the model number on it.

Both are ported - what are the differences in sound and construction and drivers?

Mine is heavy low end and highs but lacking in mids

Is this ultra heavy model ( similar but with a harder surface material not a carpet material like most cabs ) sonically different. The sale price is $499.

I *believe* that you are talking about the PR4X10HLF...as far as I know Ampeg never made a HE version of that tank. The PR series is a GREAT cabinet. It was Ampeg's version of a Hi-Fi Pro model cabinet. It's heavy, but built like a Armored Personnel Carrier.

Ampeg gave up on the line (I believe due to the weight) some years back and they routinely go anyway from $250 to $400 used.

Cheers!

How does it sound compared to its 20 or so pound lighter "brother" *** 410HLF?
I can't recall the 3 letters in front of my cab ( model )
it is ** 410HLF i am not sure if it is SVT or PR or what. DO you know the full model name of my cab by any chance?

I want to compare the two.
Thank you

The PR series, or "Pro" series, was intended for use with the Pro series amps, (3Pro 4Pro, 6Pro, etc). They are more modern sounding, compared to the classic series, which are voiced more vintagey. Hope that helps.

Just to add to your confusion, there's also an Ampeg B410HLF.
