Can anyone recommend me a good 1 x 12 combo?

I need something good enough for bar gigs, not too expensive. I play in a 3 piece rock band.

Ampeg makes some decent combos, depending on the size of the bars you play, they might be what you want.

50-watt 112

100-watt 115

I have the BA115 and it's done me well for small bar/club gigs. I've gotten plenty of compliments on both it's light weight and tone.

You might need more than 100w if the amp is to project your sound without a PA.

Thanks everyone for your input. I tried the mb112, it seemed to be missing something for me. The ampeg ba112 looks and sounds very cool, but i don't know how well it will hold up at practices or small gigs

I've been using a Roland CB100 for the past three years. Love it. It also doubles as a small PA for rehearsals, by plugging in a small mixer. (it has reverb). It also doubles as a guitar amp, by using the Bassman modelling, cranking the gain, touch of reverb.

I'm stunned at the size and volume of gigs this little unit has treated me well. Always place on the floor to couple it. More bottom end than the GK MB150 (which I once owned).

Not a combo but very portable and good sound. I use GK 400RB $200 used and a Avatar 112 ($200 used). Works well. I have also used a SWR LA series 100watt with 115 which was decent.

Personally, I'd want at least 200w (preferably 300w) and one 15" rather than one 12".

Roland CB100 gets my vote. Ampeg's BAs are plain terrible...

That Roland CB100 looks pretty damn cool. Perfect for what I need actually . But I think it's been discontinued. I've also been looking at the fender rumble 75 watt amp, 12" speaker... Anyone ever try one of these?

GK 700RB/112 looks like a monitor. Has a fancy "luggage pull bar".....

I have the CB100 as well. There is a replacement model if you want new or you could find a CB100 second hand.

I don't think the Rumble is in the same league. The Roland has a preamp with amp modelling that makes it very versatile.

Just bear in mind that 100W is not large and depending what music you play and what PA you have, you may need a bigger amp.

If you stretch your budget a little more, you might be able to find a used GB Shuttle 6.0-12t combo.

Its in another league than the GK MB12.

Its my current gig rig. I previously had a GK MB210 and an Ampeg BA115. The GB Shuttle blows them both away in size, portability, tone, and volume. I added a matching extension cabinet and its got gobs of volume. Played a packed show this past weekend for ~200 people at a bar. No PA support. Master volume on 4 the entire show.

Buy once, cry once.

This has been a concern of mine for three years. However, I always get away with it.

I popped a Yamaha 1-10, 4ohm cab underneath it and the improvement in volume and girth was truly astounding. I occasionaly plug a Goliath into it and it doesn't have the same effect.

I have a Littlemark head and it, and the SWR, have been out once in the past three years.
