Can a Genz Benz head power a combo?

Hiya everyone

I'm looking at getting a sweet ultra-light gb 350w head and run it through my ashdown 300 Mag II combo as a cab. But what I want to know is, is this even possible? I have checked the ohms rating and the two should be compatible but I'm not sure if the combo will act simply as a cabinet speaker, can anyone help me out here.. obviously this is just for use in the interim while I get some more funds for a dedicated cab, but I thought I'd check anyway. Cheers.

If you can disconnect the Ashdown head from its cabinet, then it's obviously pretty straightforward.

Another way may be to go from the DI out of the new head into the effects return of the Ashdown, utilising the preamp section of the former and the power section of the latter.

You have to get a speakon to 1/4" adapter thingy if there is such a thing, unless you have a speakon cable that is in your combo. Genz Benz heads are all speakon pretty sure.

Be sure that the Ashdown amp section is disconnected from it's cabinet before connecting the head, otherwise you could damage something. Also, do not take the speaker out of any amp and plug it into an input of any other amp for the same reason.

If you have any specific questions once you get to trying it (if something doesn't seem right to you) , please PM me and I'll try to walk you through it.
