Question Can My Rig Handle It

Sign in to disble this ad
Ive joined this Hxc band. They want to play in Drop B. Do you think my GK Backline 600 and 4x10 GLX can handle drop B?

I have to restring because my string tension is GONE when I tune down so far... any thoughts?

As long as you stay away from boosting the lows much, I'd bet you'd be ok.

As far as strings: get the heaviest set you can find, possibly get a lighter 5 string set and throw out the highest (G).

It would be way easier for you to get your bass set up for BEAD tuning than to tune two and a half steps down. It'll be way easier on your bass, too.

If I were you, I'd head down to your local shop and buy an Elixer medium B string, then string your bass up with the other strings from the set you already have.

So I thought about this more today and realized that what if the B string breaks my nut?
