i have the XS400H Yorkville head (almost positive that's the model of the head)
anyways, i have a 410 cabinet (XC410) and an older crate 15" cabinet. Since the head has 2 speaker out jacks, would it work to plug both cabinets in at the same time with just the one head?
also, could this ruin the cabinets? the only thing i can see happening is the 15" blowing because of too much power from the head if it gets cranked.
2nd also, with both cabs plugged in, will each cab only get a partial ammount of the heads amplification power?
thanks |

1) Check specs on the head. What is the MINIMUM impedence it will drive? (8 ohms, 4 ohms or 2 ohms?)
2) Check specs on speaker impedence. WHAT is the impedence of each cab? (Normally 8 or 4 ohms.)
Report back with both pieces of data and we will tell you if it's OK. (Or just take that info and surf TB for an answer - it has been discussed dozens, if not hundreds of times.)
Connect two cabs without knowing the info above and you risk melting your amp.

Beat me to it!

Yorkville XC410 says: 8 Ohms impedance
Crate 15" says: ?
couldnt find the crate Ohms for the cab, but, i did find the PDF. any able to spot the cab Ohms? www.crateamps.com/pdf/manuals/B150_OM.pdf |

I believe the 15 is 4 ohms, and rated for 150 watts.
If I'm correct, you won't like that combo of cabinets even if the amp will support them. |

If the quoted figures are correct you risk damaging your amp with a load of 2.67Ω to a 4Ω minimum amp. Not a good idea.
