Can you ID this Eden amp? WT800?

Sign in to disble this ad
Saw this for sale locally. They say it's a WT800c, however:
1. It only has bananna plugs and 1/4" speaker outs.
2. No speakon outs
3. serial number: 2796
4. mfg date: Mar. 13 95

I haven't seen the amp in person I only have a pic of the front of the amp. Could this be a WT800a?

Thats definitely an A model. I know I had one.

That is a WT800-A

As noted earlier only bridgeable to 8ohms.

The *C* notation that may or may not be on the back of the amplifier has to do with revisions that were made to the original design. The revision letters I believe go from A-E.

This is a pre US-Music Eden amplifier.
The WT800*B* & *C* amplifiers that are produced by US Music were manufactured:
B - 2005
C - 2007 (current) the C-version has the back-lit Eden logo

I heard the "C" designation refers to it being made in China

However, the seller may have had the amp upgraded to C specs. When I sent my A model in for the upgrade, I found out that they didn't change tha output jacks, so I had them send it back to me. I sold it for $900 and bought the B model for $1,300, so I made out better.

My 800A has a 4 wire speakon ... attached to a 1ru blank mounted on the rear of my rack and wired up to the bananas ... The A is a killer amp with Spencer's for sale in the GFS for stupid cheap money ...

Thanks for all the responses!
The above amp is being sold in a local store for $699 plus tax would bring it to approx. $775. A little high for a 1995 A model, I think.

I was amazed at my bass tone after playing thru a WT550 & 410XLT at a friends house last week end. So I thought it might be time to upgrade my 12 year old Carvin rig, which still works perfectly. However, I've read a lot of horror stories about Eden's quality control and customer service since they were acquired by US Music.
So I have a few questions.
When did US Music acquire Eden?
Is it a good idea to avoid certain amps post US Music? Like the WT800c.

The WT800B is a good bet if you are worried about the reliability of the C (for justifiable reasons or not).

Bridgeable at 4ohms, speakons and 1/4 jacks, and bulletproof. They should sell more cheaply as well as they are a bit older.

Talk them down at the shop. Theyre like $100 too high. But yeah, its worth it
