Carpet vs Tolex Bergantino NV 610 Cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Is there any difference in quality, performance, sound, components etc. between the older NV610 cabs with the carpet finish and the newer Tolex ones?

How much the drivers have been abused would be my only concern.
Carpet hides scuffs and scrapes better than tolex.

But also attracts pet fur and stuff like that. I have 2 dogs, and my rat fur Avatar Neo 212 gets really furry. It's about a 5 minute vacuum job to get it clean, but it would take much longer with a bigger cab. If you have a choice, I'd say tolex, but you can't go wrong with either.

My experience with Tolex is it ALWAYS gets torn ...... even when you do have the cover and it looks like $%^U .... I always prefer rat-fur .... a shop-vac & Fa-breeze works just fine ...... IMHO

I don't even own a sinlge pet but my carpeted gear is covered in animal hair and pine needles.

Plus the newer carpeting seems to get fuzzy and tattered looking, I have some older PA gear with carpeting that doesn't seem to get fuzzy or attract hair, but the newer stuff is almost magnetized to it! I prefer Tolex although I have lots of carpeted gear. I wouldn't not buy a piece I wanted because of carpet but given the choice I'd go tolex.

Thanks guys but I'm not asking about the relative merits of the different coverings, rather I'm trying to determine if the older Berg NV610s are as good as the new ones!
