Carvin 810 vs. Gallien Krueger 810

I currently use a Carvin RL810 (ported) cabinet that has monstrous low end. It is about ten years old and I am thinking about purchasing a Gallien Krueger neo 810 (1600 watts RMS) but I can't find any reviews on it. From my understanding, the GK neo 810 is a sealed cabinet, not ported. I play a 5 string tuned down (G,C,G,C,F) and I'm wondering if I'll be sacrificing the bottom end with a sealed cab. If anyone has the GK let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Yes you will be sacrificing low end with a sealed cab, but then again the human can't hear the fundamental low G, so why worry if a cab can (none will) produce tone to your tuning.

How does the GK neo 810 compare to an Ampeg 810e tone wise? I'd love to try one out, but nobody stocks them out here.

I had the non neo version of that cab. It was a good sounding cab. It is slightly larger and deeper than an 810 ampeg which gives it a bit better low end. It also extends the high frequency because of the tweeter. It still has that great sealed sound like an ampeg.

I just picked up a GK 810rbx, not the same as the neo can but they probably share similar designs. If the neo's anything like other GK cabs it will be really punchy and dark-sounding, with plenty of low end.
