I'm going to be picking up one of the two amps within a day or so and would like to know which you would recommend.
I've read through most of the threads and I've gleaned this: B1500...proven and loved (by many); will drive anything; truly a workhorse; solid, deep, authoritative sound. The only downside, if it can be considered as such, is the weight.
As for the B2000...not too much, really. I've read that it "can" sound like the B1500, but some (maybe even many) folks have said that they feel the B2000 lacks some of the low end control that the 1500 has in spades. It seems that the consensus has been something like this: Almost as good as the B1500, but lacks something. However, if weight is an issue, then a good alternative to the 1500.
I just wonder if the differences in sound quality heard by some has more to do with the expectations that they went into the comparison with as opposed to there being a real difference. Just maybe since one amp is heavier, people assume it's going to sound better.
I routinely use the "weight" thing for deciding on the quality of takeout Chinese. The more it weighs, the better it'll taste.
The weight won't be an issue since I am not gigging. It'll just be used to drive two Acme Low B2's for my aural pleasure.
The price between the two will be about the same.
