Carvin Bass Systems

I'm lookng into getting a carvin bass system and i was wondering if anyone has one and could give me some pros and cons on the amp and 8/10 cab.

I've heard the 810 isn't really that loud.

Which amp are you looking at? The B2000 is a sweet beast. If you can find a used B1500, they're cheap and awesome. In my opinion, there are better 810's out there...but the BRX10.4 cabinet is surprisingly huge-sounding. Two of those would give most 810's a serious run for the money...and you can bring one to smaller shows/rehearsals.

Get any of their B series or BX series heads(amps) and you'll be fine. I would NOT get their 810 or any of their regular cabs for that matter. In my opinion, the BRX series cabs are the best bang for the buck on the market. Hell, I would have bought mine even if they cost a few hundred more. That is how much I love my BRX 10.4 Neo cab. I have the BX1500 head FYI. Great combo.

I've been using Carvin bass amps exclusively since Feb '07 and they've been nothing short of great, reliable, powerful and great sounding. Currently I use a BX500 at 2 ohms into a BRX10.4 and BRX10.2 neo cabs, the sound is huge. The BRX10.4 is really an unsung hero of a cab IMO.
