Carvin BR NEO cabs vs. Hartke HyDrive series?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I'm looking into putting a new rig together and I just want to know how these two cab types compare, specifically they're 4x10 models. I tried the Hartke and it sounds amazing but I have no way to trying a Carvin BR410N because the only places that sell them are in Cali. If anyone with experience playing on both of these could chime in I'd really appreciate it.

Have you thought about the Carvin BRX410NEO? They are amazing cabs and still on the cheap, especially for what you are getting for the money. Even though I'm a huge pusher of the Carvin BRX series cabs, I'd have to say Hartke when it comes to the two cabs you asked about.

I say try the Carvin first. You can send it back after a few days of trials. If you don't like it, get the Hartke. For the extra dollars, I would go with the BRX10.4NEO cab though. The Carvin's BRX freq. response(26-22k) looks better than the Hartke. But the Hartke might have a better tone with their freq response(30-17k), in that range. The BR is only 53-20k, but you do save some weight though. I'm considering Carvin too.
