Carvin BR510N versus BRX10.2NEO + BX500

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All,
This is my first post here.
Have a question about the Carvin BR510N
Would you expect the BR510N to deliver the same performance and tone as compared to a BRX10.2NEO with an external BX500 head.
Thanks

NO

IMO, no. While the combo will do a good job by itself (in many cases), the BRX10.2 will give you a deeper, fuller sound without overdriving the speakers because of it's cabinet design. For instance, you might find yourself turning up the bass knob in certain situations using the combo where you won't have to do it using the head + cab. This is less taxing on the speakers and the head, allowing you to turn up the volume and cut through in louder band situations.

The new smaller heads kind of make getting a high-powered combo rather fruitless.
