I bought the Carvin and have been using it for the last 2 yrs, sounds great.

That said, The best is a pair of the Avatar 2x12s since Carvin doesn't build any, I'm the foremost authority, no one else' opinion maters, and I hate 410 cabs.

| | | | Got me thinking about professional 4x10 neos again:
According to their web site the neo Carvin weighs 76 lbs (8 lbs more than the non-neo version)
The Avatar neo is 65 lbs
Ashdown neo is 76 lbs
GK neo is 68 lbs
Markbass 66 lbs (non-neo is 56 lbs)
Ampeg 64 lbs
Bergantino AE410 is 62 lbs
SWR 4x10 Golight is 56lbs which I think is the lightest 4x10 neo available at this moment
Who am I missing and at what weight? |

Not sure, but I'd bet Carvin's speakers are from Eminence as is Avatar's, (99% of the commerically built cabs on the market use Eminence.) Both company's horns are probably from the same manufacturer also.
Carvin has a little deeper cab for their deeper sound, Avatar uses a bigger x-max on their bass speakers for their deeper sound.
The Carvin is alittle more expensive and weighs a few pounds more with a 18-1/4" deep cab comparied to Avatar's 16.5" deep cabinet.
