Carvin BRX10.2 or 10.4?

Hello TB Forum,

Here's the current situation.
Right now I'm using a Digitech BP355 effects pedal into a Peavey Max115 rated at 75 watts. This BARELY holds up to the half stacks that my guitarists use and my amp usually clips or bottoms out when I get to an acceptable volume.

Soooo, I am looking to get the Carvin BX500 amp and one of the BRX cabs.
My question is, being in a medium volume band that plays music similar to Bullet for my Valentine and Dream Theater, can I get by for now buying the BRX10.2 until I can afford to add a BRX10.4? or should I get the BRX10.4 from the start.

I found both the bx500 and the brx10.2 on guitar center used for about $250 for each. Should I spring for it??

A single 210 would never be enough for most of us, and I'd bet you too. Start with the 410, and if that's not enough, add a 2nd identical 410 for a balanced rig. A 410 paired with a 210 only works if the 410 is 4 ohms, 210 is 8 ohms, and the amp is stable down to 2 ohms.

If your amp will do 2 ohm, and the bx500 does, you can use two 4 ohm cabs. No probs. Two 4 ohm cabs makes 2 ohms. I do know people that use this exact combo, and it rocks!! I use a Carvin bx1200 and a Carvin brx 10.4 neo, and it's all I need. I play in very loud rock band too.
