FWIW, I still like my BATT and USB interface better, including footprint, but I wish I could practice through the Carvin and get a good clean sound. | I also get bad sound quality from headphone with my MB-15. I prefer to plug into my Presonus Firebox instead.
Otherwise my Mb-15 sound great!

I'll be using the MB10 as a URB stage monitor again this Friday. It'll be my first time using it with the Headway EDB-1. I'll do my tone shaping/DI off of the EDB-1 this time and see how it works. The amp definitely didn't work as well at my last show without the Fdeck HPF. I'll report back sometime afterward Friday night. |

Very solid well made rig. probably not loud enough as a large room or outdoor amp when your competing with heavy drums and Marshall stacks, but then you line out to the mix and your all set. In that case you would have a great monitor on stage and with pre/post gain switch a little control of your mix. The parametric eq is fantastic. Adds a lot of projection to your sound. The drive and contour add a lot of tone shaping. I was playing with some friends yesterday in a small 20x20 room just having fun. Two loud guitars and pa with vocals and drums mixed . The amp had no problem cutting through everything and that was half volume with a Danelectro Longhorn bass. Everyone was impressed with the sound of this little lightweight amp. You lose quite a bit without the extension cab, but still able to get a great sound. Works really well with my Jack Casady bass also. All in all at this early stage of ownership I am pleased with my purchase. So is my back! |

I've had my MB10 combo since August, have used it for weekly rehearsals and at least a half dozen gigs without any problem. Tonight, I got ready to fire things up, and the amp made a loud pop, after which, the speaker buzzed while I was playing. I'm afraid there was some sort of power surge and the speaker was damaged. Not cool. It's still under warranty, so I guess I'll be shipping it to Carvin this week ...

On that note, the MB10 still makes a perfect stage monitor for my folk band and myself.. Using the fdeck series 2 and Headway EDB-1 with it for that show made sound check easy as ever. |

| | | | Hey guys,
I have a Carvin MB10 that i have had for a little over a year (and a month past the warranty...go figure LOL) that is giving me Static even when the bass isnt hooked up to it. I took the brain out and looked to see if everything was grounded tight and hooked up, and it appeared as though everything was solid. Has anyone else had any issues with static and their Carvin MB's? I loved this amp up and till this happend, im hoping its somethign small. Thanks!!

Number please?
If anyone hasn't seen my new fretless from Carvin let me know and I'll toss up a pic or two. It's rather killer.

| | | I got a hold of Carvin, and even though my warranty was up in November, the fact that it stopped working right within two weeks of the warranty, they said to send the head portion of my MB10 in and they would see if they could figure out what was wrong. I have always heard great things about their customer service, and so far that’s what I have received! Cant wait to get this thing back up and running! I want to get a 210 or a 15 cab to go with it eventually.
By the way, can I get in on the Carvin Micro club?

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Kent NY | | | So I just did little experiment. I am a tinkerer so when I first got my MB10 I took the amp out to see what she was made of. By the speaker outs I saw two empty spade connectors with "mid" next to them. figured it was for the MB12 with the 6.5 mid. I just now took it apart again and hooked the woofer up to the "mid". It is in fact functional and crossed over, took all the bass from the woofer, but at a sacrifice of volume. I then plugged in my 12" external cab and wow what a nice sound, but again at a little sacrifice of volume. I am thinking that I may be able to squeeze a 4" neodymium mid range in the cab for a bit more mid range bite, or wire up a switch to cross over the 10" driver to mid range when using the extension cab. Anyone have an MB 12 that could check the impedance of the 6.5 mid range? |

This will bump the thread for a bit. Numbers on the way?

And if it would work maybe Carvin would come up with their own powered ext cabs! I'm not an expert by any stretch on electronics, in fact I know next to nothing. I wonder if having a powered ext cab would make a lot of difference. |

I'd love to hear how the mb10 sounds with the 1x15 ext cab.
Thanks guys!

Sounds better then the slot ported cab I had with the Eminence Delta 12A, not quite as low though, but very punchy. and it matches perfectly. This is a great alternative to the MB cabs.
