Carvin MB10 vs. Line 6 Low Down Studio 110

I've got my eyes on these two little amps and am just wondering how they stack up. I've seen nothing but rave reviews on the Line 6. I certainly like the way it looks vs. the Carvin, but Carvin claims to have 250 watts in the box. So for a little extra $ and size, it would seem to be the way to go.
Plus you can always throw one of these on top of another cab if need be. I currently use an Ampeg Micro SVT on top of an Ampeg PB112, which I love, but it would be nice to have it all in one box. The reason I am looking at these is because of starting to get into open mic night stuff and they seem practical. So, if any of you have any experience with either or both would love to hear your thoughts.

I like the Studio 110 for a practice amp, but that's about as far as you will go with it. Some do use it live plugged in direct with good results. It's designed to be used direct or miked, but I still want some more watts for most situations. In an acoustic situation, I'd have no problem using it solo.

From what I've read, the little Carvin's puts out big tone standalone and kicks butt with an extension. It's just more amp than the Line6, although the Line6 is cheaper and has some cool effects on it.

It was about a couple months ago that I received a questionaire from Line 6 about the Lowdown series amps. Just the norm., wanting to know my likes and dislikes about the LD150 that I had. So, I am guessing they are getting ready to release a new series of bass amps. I will try to hang on for awhile before making any hasty moves. The Carvin MB series is so tempting. If Line 6 released a studio version built around a 12" I would probably be all over it.

I've played the line 6 with some very fat Bogart/Bart output... I couldn't make it fart out..

Well, I recieved my Studio 110. Very cool. Took it to band practice and found that it does not keep up with the drummer at all. Well, are drummer anyways. I guess depending on what you are doing. If you were doing some kind of cafe or similar more intimate setting it would probably be fine. I sure would like to see Line 6 put out one of these with a 12" in it. I was at one of the music stores and there was a kid there trying out all these practice amps. He was not happy. He never hooked up to the studio 110, probably because of the price point compared to the others. I insisted he hook up to it. So he did. A smile came accross his face and said "thats more like it". So there is definately a place for this amp. Obviously, at the ratings of the Carvin would be more universal. I kind of wish I would of held off to save a few more bucks and shoot for the Carvin MB 12" model.
