Carvin V410T

Sign in to disble this ad
I just ordered a HArtke LH500 head... now I am looking for a cab to go with... There is a Carvin V410T on CL locally for $150... Assuming it is in good shape, is this

1. a decent price?
2. a good match for the HArtke LH500?

Thanks...

It's good for that price assuming it works properly, speakers are in good shape still. Used to have one years ago. It's good in the mids/lowmids. Punchy but doesn't have much lower bottom sound. Usually added some bass at the amp or stacked it with a 15. Depends on what sound you're going for but it will get the job done for cheap.

Thanks will...

He mentioned that he had replaced one speaker in the past. My question:

Are speakers something that need to be replaced all at the same time or in pairs or is replacing one out of 4 OK? I am emailing him to see if he replaced it with the same thing that was in it...

The speakers in those are carvin model PS-10. Not sure if they're still available since everybody's changing to neo's, check carvins site. Replacing one is ok if it's the exact same model as the others, although if 1 went, what condition are the other 3 in? If using anything other than an exact replacement you should replace all 4 as different spec speakers in the same box will likely be interfering with one another instead of complimenting. I'd find out as much history as I could and before buying, pull the grill off and closely inspect all the speakers. If they look good, hook up the amp and turn it up loud. Listen for any weird noises.

I have that vintage Carvin 210 cab I bought new in the
mid 90's....has grey carpet. I think there is a 410 like
that avail used now on Dadfdy's Junky music site for
more $$. I have used my 210 lots and pushed it hard
with no probs. My 210 is a 4 ohm @ 400 watts. If he
replaced that one speaker with another ps-10 like the
other poster mentioned and it sounds good when pushed
I would take it.
