Carvin X100B (vs. a Peavey VK100)

First off, I know these are guitar amps. I like to play bass through a guitar amp due to the tone. I figure there's enough people on this board that they may have some experience with either, or both, amp.

hello. so, I've come across a place that has a Carvin X100B w/ footswitch for sale for $325. I'm thinking about trading my Peavey VK100 w/ footswitch for it. I'm not sure about quality or reliability of this amp, though. I know Carvin generally makes some badass stuff, cabs aside. I'm just curious if someone can provide some feedback about the X100B, and how it may stack up against a stock Peavey VK100.

also, my musician friend I was talking to earlier said the X100B looks like it's a Mesa mkII clone. anyone know if there is there any truth to this?

Go to the Carvin forums. Raymeous (TB member) just recently made a review on this guitar head as a bass head. Its in the bass amp section. He seemed to have really loved it.
