good question cyrus. they decided on it that way. although, if you ordered one i'm sure they could make it duffel style. the handle is fine though. stitched down nicely and large enough for a big ole hand.
i understand what you're saying though. carrying it with a carry-on bag, and a drink or something to a flight might get a little tiring carrying it. i think i can make it work though.
they are super cool with customizing and stuff, and so the duffel thing shouldn't be a problem.
