Cast your 212 cab vote

This is kind of a "poll" version of a previous thread now that I've narrowed it down to a few companies. Please cast your vote. The ONLY thing I'm concerned about is TONE. Not weight, price, etc., etc.

Thanks!

I've got two B212 Avatars with an Ashdown ABM 500. Sounds awesome.
Never played the GB, but hear nothing but good about them. GK, can't say one way or the other. Not much help I'm afraid.

If all you care about is tone, why have you specified a driver size?

Love my NeoX212T... great cab, great size, pairs well with my GK MB-500 and my SVT Pro4. Small enough for small shows, and loud enough for anything but the biggest of stages.

Every cab you listed is good...tough decision...I know they aren't on the list, but my GB Uber 212 is so freaking rad, I can't even tell you

Well, what kind of tone are you after?

The avatar absolutely smokes the competition especially in the 2X12 cabs. It has a huge full tone with slightly scooped mids and nice smooth highs. It handles quite a bit of power also.

I owned just about everything out there in my 45 years playing bass and Genz Benz or GK can't come close!

Since you don't specify exactly what you mean by (good) "tone", you force anyone who replies here to make certain inferences in order to provide you with a reasoned response. It's either that, or make recommendations based solely upon one's own preferences (a TalkBass specialty).

I'm going to go way out on a limb here, and make an educated guess that you favor a tone that is articulate and refined - along with all the other things that any good bass cab should be. If so, the Genz Benz Neo 212-T probably edges out the GK Neo in refinement, and is very close - in the same ball park - in terms of articulation.

The Avatar probably takes the prize for sheer booty. And the GK for aggressiveness. But each cab is well within "striking distance" of the other two, on pretty much all factors. They're all nice cabs. But I vote Genz Benz...

Bergie or Powerhouse rules the roost IMHO.. esp. if weight isn't an issue.
Since your only looking for 3 different caps I think 212-T prolly the best of this group... but that is personal taste.

I am concerned with weight. That's why I chose these cabs and a 212 like Aguilar isn't on the list. I'm just not concerned with weight between the 3 cabs I've narrowed my choices down to. They're all in the same range.

Because I like the tone of 212's. I just want to know which one sounds best of the 3.

But there is no "tone of 212s". There's the tone of this 212 and that 212, and that 410 and this 153. As to which sounds the "best" ....?? Only you are going to be able to decide that one. As long as you're not listening with your eyes, that is.

IMO polls of this sort are a total waste of time. Tone is subjective, no one can know what you like. Try the cabs yourself.
