I have a show coming up at a small venue so I'm only bringing my 4x10 with and I had an idea for tilting the cab so that I can hear myself better and I wanted to know if anyone has done it before and had any luck with it.
I was thinking if just taking off the back two casters to achieve the tilt. It seems pretty obvious to me so I'm sure others have done it before. Seem like a pretty decent idea? And issues with this that I'm not thinking about?

As long as it doesn't hurt the sound I might as well give it a shot. |

On bigger cabs, not so much. |

Works great that way. It's much better than having the cab on the ground. |

get a proper amp stand or a small wedge or use the wheels as you described. if the tilt might not be enough for a tiny stage, use a wedge of wood painted black or an amp stand. milk crates = non-pro look.

See Bill Fitz' response in the link below.
There are also some links to some tilt back solutions, as well as lifters in that thread. What are some good "lifter" cabinets?

Just noticed if you scroll down, there are other cab stand options ...
One of these should fit your application well ...
