I remebmer reading about the B36MF in my Warehouse Sound Company (anyone remember them?) catalogs. I freind of mine used one for a while in the early '80 with this black Music Man StingRay. It sounded great, but then Delbert sounded great pretty much no matter what he played.

| | | | I just picked up a BG 250 for a good price. I had walked into a club along time ago and even before I saw what the bassist was plugged into I knew I must someday own whatever it was because the bass sounded PERFECT. That day finally came. The only other time I've had that kind of experience was when I heard my first Walter Wood head. Got one of those now too! |

I did a show back in 1982 and the bassist in the opening act had that very amp. He played a custom Hamer Jack Blades bass through it and the sound was HUGE!! I offered to trade him my Musicman HD150 head and RH115 cabinets for it, but he declined. I never saw another one until your post. What a GREAT amp that was/is. |

Back in High School, I carried around a Freeport Music catalog (NYC, iirc). Not that I needed it though as I had all the guitar, bass, amp prices memorized.

I've paired it with an SWR 4004 head, and the clarity of the mids and highs is pretty remarkable given that it's a single 18 without the 12" front-loaded speaker (I installed a new one and immediately removed it, as it really only served as a monitor). I had it paired with a 2-10 for a bit (with a peavey mark VI to push the 2ohm load), but now prefer it as a stand-alone. Not ideal for smaller or intimate gigs, but the low end...I'd step over my grandmother for it.
Thanks again, Bofee!

| | | | I"ve had a BG-250 paired with the B-48 cab since the mid-80's. The B-48 is like the B-36 except it folds on top and bottom. I pulled it out of storage last night and set it up in my apartment. I've probably played it about 5 times in the last 15 years but I decided it was time to dust it off and start getting some use out of it. It still sounds as smooth as can be and super beefy with my Stingrays. |

| | | | BG-250 I've owned one of these for several years, it's paired with a Sunn 215BH cab, loaded with 2 Genz-Benz 15s. I play a Jazz Bass, P Bass, an '87 Gibson Bass IV, and a Soundgear 305dx through it, and it has an amazing sound!! My guitar player has commented on the tone several times, and the first time I ever had the cops tell us to quiet down was with it. I highly recommend it! |

I think I liked the Sunn better.....used a 12 band mxr graphc with it....like you I wish I still had it.....or is that just nostalgia
