| change heads, now prefer 112 over 210?

Had an interesting sonic experience that I wasn't really expecting, though I shouldn't be too surprised. Historically I've been a 10s guy, running a pair of VL110s for many years, then switching to Berg AE112 (for lightest weight) and AE210 (for punch) earlier this year. I actually had a pair of AE112s but running them with an MB LMTube I found it had too much low end booty and not enough definition for my taste, especially with the Rob Allen. So I sold on of them and picked up the 210 which has been my go-to cab for funk and non-straightahead jazz gigs.
But the LMTube decided to take a tumble off my cart and now is in permanent VPF-on mode. I have gigs and hate that tone so I overnighted a GK Fusion head to use. I have to say I'm very impressed with it so far, but oddly enough now I really prefer the sound of the 112 cab to the 210. I'm also running a new Roscoe fretless in the mix, but with all the basses I found the 112 to really be fat and big while still very articulate.
The 210 by comparison was much more focused mid. I tweaked EQ a bit but it is just the way the head is voiced and/or the way it delivers the power. I'll gig with the 112 on NYE (not too big of a room and should be fairly low levels), but now I'm seeing...well, hearing...what people dig about the 12s. Maybe I'll go back to a pair of 112s or sell what I've got and get a Berg 212 to go with a Thunderchild that is on order.
At any rate, was wondering if others had similar speaker preference changes with changing heads. Given the comments of people on TB, I expected some difference between the MB and GK, but not swapping speaker size preference.
