Sign in to disble this ad
I need to change the voltage from 110 to 220. Does anyone know how to do it? GK wont answer

PS! The screws on the panel are made out of butter. Very frustrating

From what I can tell, the amp is hardwired for the voltage. There would have to be a modification done by an authorized service tech which probably entails a number of parts. What this suggests, which kind of negates the compact lightweight charm of that amp, is getting an adequate capacity step down transformer that drops the 220 to 110.

The amp probably uses a switch mode power supply. The question at hand would be what changes in the design country to country? Some companies do a universal supply and you just use the country appropriate line cord and line fuse.

Have you seen this thread?
GK MB500 (MB2-500) Supply Voltage Change
I'm curious if it would be as simple as the jumper switch or if the different preamp has additional requirements. I would not want to just try it out without knowing.....
