Changes to my rig

Lately, the band has been travelling more than ever to gigs. Some even overnighters. Just got back from Canada on a 3 dayer. Currently, my rig is the following:

Shuttle 6.0 (sits on top of cab)
NEOX 212T
Pedal board (VT Bass, Boss Chorus, Shure wireless, tuner, volume pedal)

I find I never use the chorus or volume pedal except for muting. While the sound of the VT is nice, others here have shown me settings for my Shuttle that give me that tubey bassy sound I like from my Ric.
Plus, I hate carrying all the separate gear. A pedal board with cover running back to the amp, the Shuttle in its little gig bag.

I'd just like one thing that fits everything I need. Also, when all the gear is in the trailer, hard to protect Shuttle amp.

So today I ordered rack ears for the Shuttle, a Gator 4 U rack bag. I have rack ears and accessories for my Shure wireless and I ordered a rack tuner. I'm getting rid of the pedals because I don't use 2 of them and I like the sound I can EQ from the Shuttle as well as I like the VT. Plus, I own the 4 button switch from Genz for the Shuttle if I want a floor mute.

I hope I'm not crazy, but I got to do something that is more organized than what I have going on now.

Makes perfect sense to me. Although there are a lot of pedal fans (me too in the past) I'm a big believer in keeping it simple. For some time my focus has been to get as pure and clean a bass tone as possible.

Good luck!

You'll know if you did the right thing by doing it and seeing what you think. I've done a lot of scaling back as well, and now I'm down to one pedal for most of my gigs. But as long as I carry an upright, I'll never be able to scale down completely. And no, I'm not getting a stick upright There IS a point of diminishing returns on scaling back, though I don't think it's in the pedals.

Thanks for the support. As I get older I notice I want things more east and ready to go but I won't sacrifice my tone for it though. I've played my Shuttle with these EQ settings before and I was pretty happy with it. Even with the Shuttle, tuner and wireless the entire bag will only weight 20lbs and everything will be under one roof so to speak
