Angry Cheap GK MB 210 grill?

Sign in to disble this ad
The grill of my GK MB 210 vibrates, which is probably normal

but seeing as how its not cloth, and its a little loose around the edges, it vibrates

when I push the top of it hard enough, which isnt very hard at all mind you, it stops vibrating

anyone have any fixes or suggestions for this?

thanks

Maybe an extra screw or two might do it. Or take the whole thing off and try to very gently bend it a little so that it can't vibrate.

Edit: just looked at what these amps are like -- so yeah, I'd take the thing off, then pack some gaffa/duct tape behind it at the critical point to stop it vibrating.

I've had some grills that made noise...and here is what I've done, get some foam weatherstripping ( the type that is about a 1/4 " wide x 1/8" thick, Frost-King is a brand that comes to mind ), that has the peel-off paper for the glue side, pull the grill off, apply the weatherstripping around the opening where the grill is screwed down. reinstall the grill, if any of the screws are stripped out. get some toothpicks, fill the screw hole with the toothpicks and yellow carpenters glue ( be sure to cut the toothpicks flush with the top ) then reinstall the screw. let it dry and you noise should be gone

He really doesn't need to buy new stuff... some combination of the fixes detailed here will surely fix it.
