You'll need to specify what you mean by cheap power amp.

I'm using a Vestax VDA 1000 that I got from Musician's Friend for less than $200. Even at paid gigs. Fits my quirkiness. Do forum search, we talked about them extensively when they dropped the price.

keep in mind that you usually get what you pay for and save money in the long run by buying a higher quality amp.

IMO, i'd recommend buying a reliable, used, but well known brand of amp instead.

I picked up one of the discounted vestax units too, works great.

Odd form factor though

Can you give us an example?

I'd be hard-pressed to stake my reputation on an unknown. Inordinately high failure rates, poor performance, lack of tech support / service....the list goes on. You'd be better off saving a few extra quid and buying used....Crown, QSC, Peavey, Crest, Mackie.

The new crown xls1000 $299.

There's a point where it doesn't make sense to try to go cheaper with off brands. This will give you 1100 W @ 4 ohms bridged, or 700 W at 8 ohms bridged.
