Cheap speaker cab?

Sign in to disble this ad
hello,
i am looking for a 600w cab, preferably a 115 with a tweeter and my price range is around £300-£450. I have researched and have found a few possibles but i just wanted to get a few suggestions from some more experienced players.
Thanks guys.

Cheap speaker cab...

How about a Carvin LS1503? under 300USD shipped. Great clear clean sound, lightweight, handles 600watts easy.

By the GB pound sign I would expect that the OP is in the UK so Carvin might not be available to him.

OP I think that you are being a little unreasonable in your specification. I really don't think that there are too many 1x15s out there that can actually make use of 600W. I can't think of any. You also must remember that cabinet power specs are usually thermal (the point where they begin to melt) and the drivers will run out of excursion (maximum the cone can move) at about half their thermal limits.

What amplifier do you own?

+1 to BPaul's post. What amp are you using? And, I've never seen a 1x15 that could "handle" 300 watts, let alone 600. You may want to spend some time reading through the amps forum to get a better idea how all this stuff actually works.

A 410 will handle more than a 15 will, and be louder, but forget about wattage ratings, they mnean next to nothing.
