Cheapish, quiet, Doom rig. is this possible?

What is the most affordable combo amp/rig to get a nice, doomy tone from, that is also not super large or big? I know that Doom = big rig, but I live in a trailer, so getting so loud also makes lots of noise and vibrations in the house, especially with bass. I'm thinking of getting a 4 ohm Emperor 1x15, with some kind of doomy speaker (JBL D140, if it's possible), and a cheap Acoustic Control 450 amp, or maybe a Peavey Mark VI?

As far as size, I think anything over a 1x15, or 2x12 is too much. I wish that I could play louder, but because of my house, I just can't.

I really have no clue, the pedals I use for fuzz are: an OCD version 4, which I use for boosting. An Earthbound Supercollider, an Audiomonk Love Potion, which is actually a univox superfuzz clone, and sometimes I use a Boosted bass big muff. I've heard that Tube amps sound really awesome with fuzz, in comparison to solid state amps, but again, I have no clue.

My current setup is a Sunn Alpha 115 combo amp, it sounds nice, but I know I can get better tones. I also considered the TV bassman 350 1x15 combo amp. But I think it only has tube preamps, not actually all tube amp.

I have really nice (studio) Audio Technica ATH m50 headphones but The tones are very muffled and different than they are from the actual speakers.

To the person reccomending the FENDER SK100B BASS AMP, why?

Another amp I was considering, even though it isn't neccesarrily cheap or quiet is the Sunn 200s, but I don't know if the tone will still be nice with the volume so low.

Define "cheapish"....what's your budget?

I got a Carvin BX500 and a pair of used 1x12 cabs....(you can go with a single 1x12, like the Avatar SB112); it'll play real quiet or real LOUD and with all the EQ options on that amp, you can dial in almost any tone you want.

my mesa d180 can be overdriven at low volumes, because of the way the master and volume work, i can play through my orange 115 at a boom box, or computer speaker type volume as to not freak out my dog and cat or my neighbors

Before I say it, I know what your thinking when you hear what I've to say.... but, Behringer.

I've got a small Behringer practice amp at home that actually sounds bigger than it is with a nice dark tone with a good amount of presence to not sound muddy. The 8" speaker is the worst part of the amp. But behringer is making 4 x10's and bigger stuff too.... Cost efficient, decent tone, semi-powerful.

around $1200 is the absolute most I'd spend on the entire rig.

You can't just turn it down because I like lots of sustain for droney stuff but you have to play really loud to get that sustain. The volume alone really messes with tone, so I'd like something that sounds really nice and deep and evil when it is still at a lower volume.

FENDER SK100B BASS AMP= small cheap tube am.p it's what your looking for. not super doomy but with the right pedal and a guitar 112 you can get that about to poop bass sound at bead room volume. headphone amps just don't cut it for that huge sound you sounds like your after. ya there fine for running through some scales but they sound kind of boring. so 120+30 shiping and any used guitar 12 your looking at a ok practice rig for 200 250ish. ain't gonah beat that for the price. you can get a nice distorted bass sound out of it in the studio to blend with your clean tone for that "them crooket vultures" sound

That's a late 80's 100 watt transistor amp. Junk.

It is cheap, I guess.

An older 2xEL34 head, the less bells and whistles the better. Basically any of your Marshall Plexi/Tweed Bassman derivatives. Traynor YBA-1 is probably the best of the bunch but a lot of people have made similar amps. Laney and Sovtek both have made solid amps based on about the same circuit. About 50 watts.

You are going to want to pair this with the least sensitive cabinet you can possibly find. One of those things cranked up to the point where it starts acting 'doomy' is still very loud, Sealed 1x15 maybe.

I'm kind of interested in this. How mean is the gain on it? Anything like 400/400+?

Get one of the newer micro heads that have been suggested or get a preamp/ poweramp setup with your choice of cabs. With a pre/ power amp setup ypu can get as quiet as a mouse or as loud as a Nuke with the same quality of sound. Therefor you can be prepared to chill in your bedroom or loud as fook for a live show with the same gear.

One cab for quietness and later add another for ridiculous volume live. Carvin is a good place to start for cheap but fantastic power amps. Add a pedal preamp for now and upgrade later if you want audiophile awesomeness. You will not be able to get really quiet with an all tube amp, period!!

I was considering a Genz benz shuttle , I know Dylan Carlson from Earth uses a 3.0 and a 1x15, so It has the possibility to make great tones.
