Church Amp Suggestions

I am going to go look for a new amp to replace a Fender 250/210 Bassman combo that just isn't cutting it in our church anymore (clipping really bad now, perhaps damaged IDK).

We seat about 200-250 people, and have no PA support for any of the instruments. Instruments include 2 electric guitars, 1 acoustic guitar, a keyboard, a baby grand piano, electric drums, and a harmonica.

We play everything from Hillsong to Israel Houghton to Hymnal style Power in the Blood.

I am thinking our budget will be maxed out at $1000, but of course if we don't HAVE to spend that much we would be happier. Looks like we are limited to Guitar Center stuff.

I was thinking a Little Mark with a Markbass 15 cab, perhaps we can keep and use the 2x10 from the combo and add it to the 15. Any suggestions?

i think an extension cab with the 210 would be awesome. perhaps another 210?????

Well, if you're limited to Guitar Center stuff, I guess the 15 cab would work. It's really up to the sound you want. Honestly, if you have a fairly limited budget on this, I would suggest spending a little less on the bass rig, like maybe the Ampeg B115E, because it will be easy to drown out the acoustic and harmonica w/o PA support... you may want to set more of the budget aside for a PA. I'm all for a thumpin bass, but make sure it's not a distraction, especially for worship. Obviously I've never been there, so it's up to you to make sure there is a good balance. Ampeg's a really good brand, sounds great, and the cab I suggested is about $200 cheaper than a Markbass 15 cab.

I suggest you get your current amp checked about by a good tech. Maybe you can save a bunch of money by getting it fixed. Why spend money when you don't have to? What city are you in?
