CL NOAD (New Old Amp Day)

i just picked this one up yesterday from a local craigslist ad. i've always had a soft spot for them ever since i played thru them in '69, and for only $50 i just couldn't resist buying it. the seller said it worked great a year ago, but recently started fading in and out. i got it home, opened it up, cleaned the pots, jack and switch, and re-secured the power amp pcb module (since it was very loose). i fired it up 15 minutes later and it works perfect. i just need to get 5 more orginal knobs for it (already have them on order).

i wish it was a blue or cascade (blue/green) sparkle, but for $50, i'm not complaining.

anyway, here's a pic of it:

That's pretty sweet. What does it sound like? I've never heard a Kustom before.

my chorus director in high school had one of those with a matching 215 before he got his acoustic 370/301. i don't know...never did much for me. always sounded a little boxy and plain to me back then. but i'd love to hear one with fresh ears...been over 30 years since i heard it

totally worth $50, though!

with the right cab (like the original kustom 2x15 JBL D140F cab), i think that they still sound really good. especially for an amp that's only 100 watts and 40 years old.
